.....meeting needs, sharing Christ
Senior Pastor: Tim B. Johnson
I was born in Bellingham, Washington in 1955 and graduated from Bellingham High School in 1974. After high school I attended Whatcom Community College and Western Washington University. It was during this time that I became a staff member at Camp Firwood in Bellingham, working as a summer counselor for young people. This was a wonderful experience for me, and it was during the two summers that I spent at Firwood that I sensed God's call into full-time vocational ministry. In 1978 I moved to Portland, Oregon where I attended Multnomah Bible College and Seminary. I completed my Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Biblical studies, and it was during my early days at Multnomah that I met my wonderful bride-to-be, Lael Petersen. We were married in August of 1980. Following college I accepted a call to Custer, Washington, where I spent the next fourteen years as Pastor of Youth Ministry, which eventually emerged into Associate Pastor of Family Ministries. I then accepted a position in Bellingham Washington, where I was Senior Pastor at Rome Community Bible Church for three wonderful years. In the year 2000 I accepted the call for the Senior Pastor position at Faith Community Church in my hometown of Lynden, Washington, and we are currently enjoying getting to know the fellowship here at Faith. God has richly blessed Lael and I with four beautiful children: Aubrey, Amber, Stephen and Brielle. My hobbies are fishing and almost all sports, especially snow skiing.
