.....meeting needs, sharing Christ
Spanish Pastor: David Ventura
I was born in DeKalb, Illinois on July 5th 1968 and lived in Rochelle, Illinois until I was 10 years old. In the summer of 1978 my mother was invited to a "Christian Revival", and she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior that night, one year later my father gave his heart to Jesus also. In 1980 my father followed the Lords calling in his life and he left his job in Illinois to become migrant workers in different states just so he could preach the Gospel to the Spanish speaking people at the migrant camps. I myself didn't fully understand this dramatic change in our lives and it had a great negative impact in my personal life. I started experimenting with drugs and alcohol from the age of 16 and by the age of 17, I was addicted to cocaine and was "shooting-up"meth. It wasn't until three months after my father's death that I realized how much I needed what my father had faithfully preached for many years (and I had rejected), a new life in Christ. At the age of 28 (after 11 years of addictions) I surrendered my life to Jesus Christ in February of 1997, my beautiful wife Yolanda committed her life as well to Jesus a month later. My wife Yolanda, and my wonderful son Xavier have both been helping me serve the Lord in ministry for about nine years, our outreach is mainly to the Spanish community. In October of 2004, we met Pastor Tim Johnson and he told us that he had been praying for about two year for the Lord to bring someone to Faith Community Church to serve the Spanish community and the Lord faithfully answered his prayer. We have been here at F.C.C now for two years, and we are so thankful to God that he brought us here to serve.
